Symposium was hosted at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, Faculty of Science, České Budějovice, Czech Republic from the 14th to 18th of August 2022.
The aim of symposium is to give all participants the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive discussion on the topics of evolution, taxonomy, ecology, biogeography, and physiology of cyanobacteria and their practical use.
Two presentations were made:
1. How dangerous are cyanobacterial blooms and what are the solutions to the problem? (presenter: Judita Koreivienė)
2. Cyanobacterial blooms and circular economy (presenter: Elzbieta Wilk-Wozniak)

The Nature Research Center and UAB Baltic UAV Services have patented the AS-LAND prototype for the collection of cyanobacteria biomass (Patent No. 7081, 12.08.2024).
